Our mission is to find, support and promote the very best local restaurants, hotels & inns, entertainment, activities and service providers in a community so that we may provide a unique and valuable guide to both residents and visitors.

Our Philosophy

There is a sea of restaurant guides,  travel magazines, 'what's happening' brochures, rack cards and internet advertising sites out there, especially in popular vacation destinations; too many, in fact. Locals seldom read them, and visitors are left overwhelmed with choices; both are savy to the fact that the shiny, prepared ads may not be telling the whole story or at least, be the most current.

It's marketing right? Advertisers hope that by luck, or pure numbers, that their ad block will get read should the magazine fall into the right hands, or the Google Gods deliver their shiny gem to the right person at the right time. Mostly, precious ad budget is spent, with fairly unmeasureable returns.

At Gone Native we have a simple philosophy that "the local community rewards the best businesses, and the best businesses reward the local community". We've all seen the businesses focused only on grabbing the seasonal customer or convention without regard to local residents fail, while businesses that cultivate their relationship with the local community thrive for decades.
